Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who need specialised assistance due to physical, developmental, social, or emotional problems. Occupational therapists assist people to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.

We can assess:

  • People’s physical, cognitive and psychosocial capacities, skills and difficulties in performing their chosen occupations and everyday activities.
  • The environments in which people perform their occupations e.g. home assessments

We can provide therapy/interventions that:

  • Enables people to participate in their chosen occupations by building people’s skills and capacity, providing education and equipment and modifying environments.
  • Promote health and well-being through encouraging people to engage in occupations that enhance health

We can provide therapy/interventions that:

  • Enables clearer speech, improved understanding and use of language and  increased swallowing function and safety
  • Promote engagement across all aspects of daily living and increase independence
  • Enables people to understand and express thoughts, ideas and feelings

Positive Behaviour Support

  • People’s sensory profile to determine their sensory integration

We can provide therapy/interventions that:

  • Enhances sensory intake to promote adaptive responses for improved daily functioning and decreased frequency and severity of behaviour/s
  • Develop a  behaviour support plan that includes strategies for improving quality of life through systems change, skill acquisition and environmental redesign
